En s’appuyant sur un vaste choix de romans chinois ainsi que sur deux romans français, L’Astrée et La nouvelle Héloïse, cet article se propose d’en étudier les modalités à la fois dans la diachronie, par une mise en perspective historique, et dans la synchronie, en dressant une typologie formelle et fonctionnelle. Versified poems inserted within novelistic prose are noticeable in the Chinese as well as in the European traditions. This paper aims at studying the characteristic features of poetic insertions within a vast choice of Chinese novels and two French novels, namely L’Astrée and La nouvelle Héloïse. It first deals with a diachronic overview and then proposes a formal and functional typology of what may seem today as a phenomenon of literary hybridity.
